Dear partners in God’s work at First UMC of Dixon:
I am thankful for God’s perfect and wise will that brought me to Dixon to serve as your interim Pastor. Since then, we have journeyed well together and have done good ministry to witness to Jesus’ amazing and saving grace.
First UMC of Dixon is indeed a faithful and beautiful congregation. I join you in giving thanks to God for what you have and pray for God’s guidance as you continue to grow in love for God, one another, and others around you who need a loving church such as the one entrusted to you.
As I look forward to the month of June, here are a few highlights I invite you to pray for and promote:
June 7th: With the blessing of District Superintendent Brian Gilbert, the congregation will hold a Special Church Conference at
11:30 AM to discuss and vote on the sale of the Hennepin Avenue parsonage. All members are invited to participate.
June 21st: Father’s Day and Confirmation Sunday followed by a Reception.
June 28th: During worship, we will honor active and retired first responders and civic workers. Tentatively, we will have State
Senator, Li Arellano, Jr. with us during the Worship Service.
Since this is my last Pastoral Article, I would like to end it with the words of Jeremiah E. Rankin (UMH # 672, vs. 1 and 2):
God be with you till we meet again;
by his counsels guide, uphold you,
with his sheep securely fold you;
